Each one of us has a place and a role to play in the incredible web of life and each one of us can make a difference.
WWF-India’s Partnership Programme, in a unique manner, seeks to make the people of India partners in the work of conservation. The programme’s objective is to strengthen the tireless efforts of the organization by bringing in the intent and energy of millions of individuals into the work that it does towards realising its vision... a living planet.
Your planet needs you. As much as you need it. Think about it.
We live in a time when challenges and opportunities are equipoised- on one side the planet needs care and healing like never before, or else the devastating effects of our unsustainable lifestyles may scar our precious home beyond repair. On the other side more and more people are realizing the urgent need to do their bit in planet care, to adopt sustainable lifestyles. The Partnership Programme strives to channelise this people power to the service of the lonely blue planet. Such an effort can only yield results when everyone commits to do their individual bit, the cumulative efforts of myriad individuals alone can save our planet home.
Our planet has reached a critical stage. Today we are making unsustainable demands on our planet. We are witnessing changes which are leading us to a point of no return. We are using nearly 30% more natural resources than can be replenished. Effectively, the Earth’s regenerative capacity can no longer keep up with demand – people are turning resources into waste faster than nature can turn waste back into resources. If we carry on the way we are now, by 2035 we will need a second planet, identical to Earth to meet are growing demands.
